A newly released survey, which has been provided by Ribena, polled 2,000 British parents, and located that dad and mom spend generally L10,000 on toys for every single child 'till the end of adolescence. It seems that many parents are facing “pressure from all of angles to get the latest toys and gadgets”, and lavish their kids with devices just like PCs, iPads, consoles and mobile phone devices.In fact, one out of six parents said they bought up to date gadgets to “look good while in front of other families” and a few even admitted denying their children use of “untrendy” toys.
Mrs Goddard Blythe, director of the Institute for Neuro-Physiological Psychology in Chester, said the buyer culture has “led to parents being seduced into assuming that the better they offer for children with regard to material, electrical goods and, consequently, the better money they spend, the higher parents they are”.
Losing outdoor play
“Sadly today we are likely to see parents facing pressure from all of angles to purchase the latest toys and gadgets and also other varieties of free, exploratory play lessen component of childhood in comparison to previous years,” Mrs Goddard Blythe added.
“Active play enables you to develop balance, coordination, motor skills and spatial awareness and outdoor play really helps to maintain adequate levels of vitamin D, might help to stop the growth and development of eyesight problems and helps children have a very healthy weight.”
